MASTERCLASS

Intro to Ukrainian Dance through Hopak 

Hopak is Ukraine’s most iconic and energetic folk dance, known for its vibrant costume colours, jumps, spins, squats, and kicks. This is a high-energy dance of friendly competition where dancers show off their skills and tricks amongst each other in a well choreographed performance. In this four-hour workshop you will learn the basic steps of stage movement, spins, tricks, and finish with a short choreographed piece to put together all you have learned!

SOCIAL EVENT

Ukrainian Polka Dance Night

The polka is a dance that is most commonly found in joyful community settings. It represents a fun, social, and celebratory element to folk life. In this workshop you will learn the basic steps, spins, and high spirited dance moves. Come with a partner or on your own – everyone is welcome! No experience needed, just a willingness to jump in and have fun!
